Rinc\u00f3n est\u00e1 situado de manera bastante c\u00e9ntrica en la costa occidental de Puerto Rico, lo cual proporciona f\u00e1cil acceso a muchos lugares maravillosos para visitar. A continuaci\u00f3n recomendamos algunas excursiones de un d\u00eda de duraci\u00f3n. Pueden partir temprano en la ma\u00f1ana y pasarse todo el d\u00eda explorando.<\/p>\n

Cavernas del R\u00edo Camuy, Observatorio de Arecibo y Faro de Arecibo<\/strong>
\n1ra parada queda a 1 hora y 15 minutos<\/em> (mapa y rutas<\/a>)
\n\"R\u00edo<\/a>Las Cavernas del R\u00edo Camuy<\/a> son una de las grandes atracciones tur\u00edsticas de Puerto Rico. Hay que llegar temprano para asegurarse de poder entrar, ya que otorgan un n\u00famero limitado de entradas cada d\u00eda. Despu\u00e9s de la gira guiada, pueden pasear por los senderos del parque y almorzar en el \u00e1rea de picnic. Despu\u00e9s del almuerzo, pueden manejar al Observatorio de Arecibo<\/a>, que tiene el radio telescopio m\u00e1s grande del mundo. Por \u00faltimo, pueden pasarse el resto de la tarde paseando por el parque del Faro de Arecibo<\/a> y disfrutar de una bella puesta del sol.<\/p>\n

Bosque de Guajataca, Cascada Gozalandia y Playas de Isabela<\/strong>
\n1ra parada queda a 55 minutos de distancia<\/em> (mapa y rutas<\/a>)
\n\"Gozalandia<\/a>Salgan temprano en la ma\u00f1ana para visitar el Bosque de Guajataca, con un \u00e1rea de 2.289 hect\u00e1reas. La composici\u00f3n del suelo en esta zona de tierras bajas es poco com\u00fan, y la flora y la fauna son bastante distintas a las de otros bosques de Puerto Rico. Pueden caminar por el sendero interpretativo<\/a> o ir a la Cueva del Viento<\/a> o visitar ambos lugares. Despu\u00e9s de visitar el bosque, pueden echarse un chapuz\u00f3n en el pozo de la Cascada Gozalandia<\/a>. Luego pueden almorzar en San Sebasti\u00e1n (los viernes hay un mercado al aire libre<\/a>). Y, por \u00faltimo, pueden pasarse una tarde sabrosa en una de las bellas playas<\/a> de Isabela.<\/p>\n

Cabo Rojo Salt Flats and Wildlife Refuge<\/strong>
\nFirst stop 1 hr, 15 min away<\/em>\u00a0(map and driving directions<\/a>)
\n\"La<\/a>The salt flats<\/a> are part of a larger wildlife refuge set aside in\u00a0Cabo Rojo in the southwest corner of Puerto Rico. There is an observation tower that overlooks the salt mining operation and an interpretative center for information about the area. The surrounding wildlife refuge \u2014 a Mecca for bird watching \u2014 has walking and\u00a0bike trails that range in length from about 1 to 2 miles, and start right behind the interpretive center. After exploring the area, drive further south and spend lunchtime (you should bring along a picnic lunch) and the rest of the afternoon at La Playuela<\/a>, a picture-perfect beach. Later, enjoy the sunset and gorgeous views from the Cabo Rojo<\/a> lighthouse. And finally, have dinner on the way back home at one of the restaurants along Route 102.<\/p>\n

Gu\u00e1nica Dry Forest and La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay<\/strong>
\nFirst stop 1 hr, 20 min away<\/em> (map and driving directions<\/a>)
\n\"Guanica<\/a>The Gu\u00e1nica Dry Forest<\/a>\u00a0encompasses almost 1,000 acres of dry forest (as opposed to rain forest). The forest is a safe home for many arid species, many of them endangered.\u00a0Due to its ecological importance, it has been designated as an International Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations.\u00a0The forest offers many well-maintained trails and is a bird-watcher\u2019s paradise. After exploring the forest, spend lunchtime (you should bring along a picnic lunch)\u00a0and the rest of the afternoon at one or two of the Gu\u00e1nica area beaches<\/a>. Later, have dinner in La Parguera. And finally, take a boat trip to the bioluminescent bay<\/a>. The bioluminescence in the bay is most pronounced on moonless nights<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Scuba Diving at The Wall in La Parguera<\/strong>
\n1 hr, 10 min away<\/em> (map and driving directions<\/a>)
\n\"Scuba<\/a>One of the most incredible experiences in Puerto Rico is scuba diving at The Wall in La Parguera<\/a>. The Wall is home to trenches and elkhorn coral, gorgonians, black coral and many more. Thousands of rainbow-colored fish move over the reefs and through the spectacular azure blue waters. This underwater photographer\u2019s heaven has visibility that can exceed 100 feet. (Be sure to make a reservation in advance with one of the scuba diving outfits \u2014 West Divers is recommended.) After spending the morning scuba diving, have lunch at one of the restaurants in La Parguera, and then drive to the Balneario Boquer\u00f3n<\/a>, one of Puerto Rico’s \u00abBlue Flag\u00bb beaches, to bask lazily in the sun the rest of the afternoon. Finally, drive up Route 102 and have dinner at one of the restaurants along the shore with a view of the Caribbean Sea.<\/p>\n
